"Motion 5 - How it Works" from the GEM series (Graphically Enhanced Manuals) explains Apple's popular motion graphics application "Motion 5" with rich illustrations and diagrams that are not found in any other manual. This 300 page interactive Multi-Touch eBook (with an extensice Glossary) presents this software application in great detail with that easy to understand, visual approach known from other books from the best-selling GEM series.
UNDERSTAND, not just LEARN
That is the motto of the book series "Graphically Enhanced Manuals" (GEM). They're a new type of manual with a visual approach that helps you UNDERSTAND a program, not just LEARN it. No need to read through 500 of pages of dry text explanations. Rich graphics and diagrams help you to get that "aha" effect and make it easy to comprehend difficult concepts. The Graphically Enhanced Manuals help you master a program much faster with a much deeper understanding of concepts, features and workflows in a very intuitive way that is easy to understand
What's New in Version 1.3
Updated GEM library, minor changes,
I have also Mark Spencer's book but this Motion book puts a total different spin on learning such a complex app. The images and diagrams are the key to this amazing book. The author really understands how to explain complex topics so become so easy.
Also, the price is very reasonable compared to the content it delivers.
I really can recommend that book for anybody who wants to get their feet west with this amazing app from Apple.
Learning made easy
I always wanted to get into motion graphics but it was too expense and too difficult. Now that Apple lowered the price for Motion to a ridiculous low amount, the first barrier had fallen. But now I still had to learn it. I had the Compressor book from the same author and based on that experience I got this book.
Wow, it won't get easier than that. Nicely done with step by step introductions of all the elements and workflows. Now I can make my own little effects for FCP. Thanks
Much more visual
I also have the official training book for Motion 5 from Mark Spencer (which is great), but this "graphically enhanced manual" explains this deep and complex program much more visual which helped me as the beginning tremendously to understand this app and also the whole motion graphic aspect of it
