When reclusive novelist Senna Richards wakes up on her thirty-third birthday, everything has changed. Caged behind an electrical fence, locked in a house in the middle of the snow, Senna is left to decode the clues to find out why she was taken.
If she wants her freedom, she has to take a close look at her past. But, her past has a heartbeat…and her kidnapper is nowhere to be found. With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.
The writing was awesome!! Yet, the store sucked!
5 stars for the most anticipated book of the year!
Tarryn Fisher, I give you five heart wrenching, soul devouring stars for Mud Vein. I don't know how you do what you do, but never stop. Your writing has a way of making people think. You're gorgeously brilliant and I hope that you never change who you are. It makes you, you.
I've been waiting for Mud Vein for what seems like a hundred years, and would have waited a hundred more. This book struck a nerve with me more than any other book has, and I know the experience I had reading it will stay with me forever. It brought the real, gritty reality nobody seems to want to read about, and threw it in your face.
My advice (and some many others will say this too) to you is to truly go into this book blind. The blurb is enough to catch you and plant that little seed in your brain to read it. If you've ever read one of Tarryn's books and loved it, I have no doubt in my mind that you will love this one as well, if not more. There's too much risk going into it that you will spoil it for yourself. This book deserves to be read with an open heart and mind, and will truly change the way you see yourself.
Bravo Tarryn. You've done it again, and I know that you will just knock this one out of the park with your next book, because that's just who you are.
Not since The Shack have I read a book so powerful!
