What makes this book different from other science experiment books is the amazing photography. Over 200 color photographs and 37 videos accompany the step-by-step instructions and simple explanations to uncover the how-to and why for each activity. Make potatoes fly, cornstarch turn into quicksand, and 2-liter bottles of soda explode on command.
Author, celebrity teacher, and science guy Steve Spangler teaches you how to transform the ordinary into the amazing as you make everyday items ooze, bubble, fizz, and pop! Make people wonder… How did you do that? From Flying toilet paper to trash can smoke rings, erupting soda to exploding sandwich bags, the experiments in Naked Eggs and Flying Potatoes will spark your imagination and totally impress your friends. Learn how to astound kids and kids-at-heart with easy and inexpensive experiments like these: Bubbling Lava Bottle, The Incredible Can Crusher, Nails for Breakfast, The Folding Egg, Quicksand Goo, Screaming Balloon, and Burning Money.

Wow. This is a must have for any parent or teacher
Amazing... The best use of the enhanced medium yet. A science, well let's say it, a physics book that SHOWS you the experiments in a video right on the page with the printed word. Imagine this in a classroom or better yet a classroom full of copies of this book. Home schoolers? You bet! Science may be a bit intimidating for some parents but with this at your finger tips? Let the science begin! And for kids too! Even kids too young to read the text yet, there are videos, VIDEOS! Right there on the page. Accessability is there too. Steve Spangler is always out ahead of the curve but this, this is a light year ahead of anything I have seen before. Go team Spangler!!!!!!!
Wonderful science book
This enhanced iPad version with video is incredible. I love how the book focuses on experiments that can be done with stuff around the house or inexpensive materials. I plan on teaching science to Preschoolers and we do not have a big budget for new items, but the kids are going to have a blast with some of these experiments.
I am so glad that someone is out there fighting for the elementary aged audience. It is too late if students are not inspired at a young age. While I have done many of these experiments and demos with students, it was refreshing to get clear description about the science behind the activity. I loved how the book has been enhanced by the iPad platform. My only complaint is that the book could have been a lot longer.
