Book 1, The Artifact Hunters
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
Cara Devon has always suffered curiosity and impetuousness, but tangling with a serial killer might cure that. Permanently.
1861. Cara has a simple mission in London – finalise her father's estate and sell off his damned collection of priceless artifacts. Her plan goes awry when a killer stalks the nobility, searching for an ancient Egyptian relic rumoured to hold the key to immortality.
Nathaniel Trent, known as the villainous viscount, is relentless in his desire to lay his hands on both Cara and the priceless artifacts. His icy exterior and fiery touch stirs Cara's demons, or could he lay them to rest?
Self-preservation fuels Cara's search for the gem known as Nefertiti's Heart. In a society where everyone wears a mask to hide their true intent, she needs to figure out who to trust, before she sacrifices her own heart and life.
I love the book. Couldn't put it down and stayed past bed time reading. It engages you with all the secretes and unknown of the story and characters. At the beginning I though it was some sort of boring English tale but it sure will throw you off with its contents. I'm ready for the next one. Loved Nate and Cara.
Must have more!!!
I got this as a freebie from Bookbub and am so glad I finally got around to reading it. As someone with a fascination of Egyptology and the Victorian era, and a love of all things steampunk, this novel hit every button just right. The storyline was superb, the love scenes written with the perfect amount of emotion and detail, and the suspense was divine. After decades of reading murder mysteries, true crime, and suspense, I can usually guess who the culprit is before the end... This novel had me guessing the whole way through. Can't wait to purchase the next in the series!!!
Best book I've read
Recently started to read a bunch of classic novels and for the most part have been disappointed. So I decided to give modern day books a chance and read this one. It's definitely my favorite book I've read ever. From the very first chapter the action begins. This book had it all. Love, murder, mystery, humor suspense and more. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
