Book 2, Aces Hockey - An Aces Hockey Novella
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
From the bestselling author of the Heller Brothers Hockey series, this charming holiday novella features one of the hunky hockey stars of the Chicago Aces.
The Christmas season always puts a smile on Jenna McFadden’s face. Even though she’s bringing a boyfriend home for the first time, inside she’s dying to see Andrew. Years ago, when the McFaddens took the troubled teen into their home, Jenna had to keep her blazing-hot crush a secret. And now that he’s playing pro hockey for the NHL’s Chicago Aces, nothing’s changed. With his wide shoulders and taut muscles, Andrew’s the most tempting package in the house . . . one that Jenna’s dying to unwrap.
Andrew Ross just can’t make a play for Jenna. Her dad and brothers wouldn’t approve, and he could never betray the trust of the wonderful people who treated him like family when he lost his own. That’s what makes the holidays so hard. Whether Jenna’s skating with Andrew on a frozen pond or sitting on his lap while he plays Santa, she’s pushing all their boundaries—and there’s only so much a man can take. Andrew knows that she’s off-limits. But something deep down tells him that Jenna’s heart is the one prize he simply has to win.

It Was OK
This book was not as good as some of her other books. The ending was very dull and a bit boring.
There are limits
This is book 1.5 in the Aces Hockey series. This book can easily be read as a standalone. It can also be read as part of the series, and it is very nice to connect it all up. Everything just makes more sense when you read a series and enjoy it in order.
Jenna McFadden and Andrew Ross have been fighting an attraction since they were in their teens. He moved in with the family after his mother died, and was told in clear terms to stay away from her. The attraction is just so strong for them both!
Jenna has been avoiding going home for fear of running into him again. She does not want him to find out he is the standard she holds all men up to. When she comes home with a boyfriend, her whole family is wondering why?
Andrew has always wanted Jenna. He has forced himself to think of her as a sister. It only works until he looks at her. She just steals his breath. He needs to find a way to fix this.
I thought this was a great addition to the series. I loved the banter and sexy times! The book was a definite keeper for my shelf!

Loved it from almost the moment I opened it. I couldn't put it down. This is a sweet, heartwarming, and forbidden, romance that pulled me in with great, hypnotic, alluring descriptions. It was written in dual POV which I love. The characters were well developed and I found them to be lovable and captivating.
Jenna McFadden is bringing her new boyfriend home for the holidays to meet the family. She loves Christmas, and is hopeful that her over protective alpha father and brothers will approve of her boyfriend. She is also hopeful that she is finally moving on with her life, and is ready to stop always comparing everybody to him. Her brother, Connors' best friend Andrew. But if she is truthful she is dying to see him. She has had a crush on him forever, ever since her parents brought him in their home after he lost his family. For years now she has been avoiding him, so no one will see her true feelings.
Andrew is now a big professional hockey star with the Chicago Aces. He has money, awards, and beautiful women wanting him. But Andrew still remembers the words that Mr. McFadden told him all those years ago when he moved in with the Mc Faddens' "Stay away from my daughter". He has already lost one family he cannot afford to lose another, so he keeps his feelings for Jenna to himself. He thinks he lost her years ago when he wasn't brave enough to speak up after their secret weekend fling in college. But seeing her with another man makes him want to hit him.
It is hard not to see the affection and pull they both have for each other, and on Christmas morning when the family wakes up to find Jenna's' boyfriend has left, they all assume he broke up with her. So what is a girl to do? Will she ever get what she wants? Will Andrew finally step up and let his feelings know? You will have to read to find out. Great ending. Highly recommended!
