Haunted by the responsibility of caring for her troubled family, Maya Jacobs gave the only answer she could when Cameron asked her to marry him. Years later, entrenched in a soulless professional routine, she distracts herself from the lingering regret of her decision with a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle that guarantees no man will ever find his way into her heart again.
Cameron Bridge has spent the past five years married to the military, trying to escape the painful memory of losing Maya. After fighting his own war in the desert, he starts a new life in New York City, with his siblings, Olivia and Darren, by his side. When fate brings Maya back to him in the heart of a city filled with its own hopes and shadows, can Cameron find the girl he once loved in the woman she’s become?
**This is a standalone novel with no cliffhangers!**
Emotional, sexy and raw!
Loved this book from page one.
Emotional roller coaster... So yes, fabulous written story.
Emotional Roller Coaster Ride!
I really enjoyed this book. To say that it was a roller coaster ride is understating the emotional torrent that you go through as you read this story. I'm glad that it was one long book rather than a sequence of books. There are so many sequence books today, this was really nice to see that the entire story was told in one stand-alone book. Some people might say they want to read the rest of Cameron and Maya's story, but I can happily assume that they are going to live happily ever after. But the're just characters in a book, but no not really, Meredith Wild builds up her characters in such a way that you can relate and just really get to know them. It was an awesome story, and I would recommend this book and all of Meredith's books to anyone.
