Once More, My Darling Rogue
2, Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James Place
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
They are England's most eligible bachelors, with the most scandalous reputations. But for the right woman, even an unrepentant rogue may mend his ways . . .
Born to the street but raised within the aristocracy, Drake Darling can't escape his sordid beginnings. Not when Lady Ophelia Lyttleton snubs him at every turn, a constant reminder he's not truly one of them. But after rescuing her from a mysterious drowning, he realizes she doesn't remember who she is. With plans to bring her to heel, he insists she's his housekeeper—never expecting to fall for the charming beauty.
While Ophelia might not recall her life before Drake, she has little doubt she belongs with him. The desire she feels for her dark, brooding employer can't be denied, regardless of consequences. So when Ophelia's memory returns, she is devastated by the depth of his betrayal. Now Drake must risk everything to prove she can trust this rogue with her heart once more.
I was awaiting Drake's story but this book was disappointing. The plot was so unrealistic that it only made both Drake and Ophelia look bad. Plus the younger generation is just not as interesting as that of Frannie, Jack, Luke, etc. Having said that, Lorraine Heath is one of my favorites and I've already preordered the next book.
Lorraine Heath please keep writing!
From the first time I picked up a Lorraine Heath book 1 year ago, I have read most of her books. Even if the story drags for a couple of pages you just feel the need to finish it. This book had a couple of those pages but it did not disappoint as a continued story of all the rogues. As a matter of fact you just can't get enough of them. Lorraine please keep them coming!
Once More My Darling Rogue
Lorraine Heath is an author I discovered through another amazing author, Sarah MacLean. Heath's London's Greatest Lovers series is great! I highly recommend it. However, this book dragged for me. A LOT. You're halfway through the book before the characters share a second kiss and then in a matter of a couple chapters everything seems to blow up and then resolve. Admittedly, this is the first title I read of either of the two St. James series (Scoundrels of St. James and Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James). Those series are much-loved, so I'll have to give them another try. Still, I can't help feeling this tale would have been better suited as a companion novella to second St. James series.
