PEM (Pediatric Emergency Medicine) Guides was developed as a point of care resource in our Pediatric Emergency Departments at Bellevue Hospital Center and NYU Langone Health. The PEM Guides focus on the essential diagnostic, treatment and disposition decisions.
The PEM Guides are not intended to be a definitive resource but were developed to provide the caregiver with a concise answer to the question: “How do I take care of my pediatric patient in the emergency department?”
What's New in Version 5.0
PEM Guide 5.0 (2018) adds 16 new PEM Guides. 25 additional PEM Guides were extensively revised.
This is a great, evidence-based, clinically useful reference for managing children in the acute setting. For emergency and urgent providers who wish to manage their patients with the most up-to-date publications and recommendations as their guide, this is a great source. I am a practicing adult EM physician treating all ages of children, and this book has been amazingly helpful. Highly recommend it!!
