A John Pilate Mystery, Book 1
J. Alexander Greenwood
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
In the early 1950s, a professor in tiny Peru, Nebraska strode into a college president's office and shot him dead, then killed himself. Though few remember this terrible event, it inspired J. Alexander Greenwood to write the novel "Pilate's Cross."
The "Pilate's Cross" book cover by David A. Terrill was selected as one of three finalists in the Best Fiction Ebook Cover category of the 2011 Global Ebook Awards.
It was also nominated for a 2011 Global Ebook Award in the Best Mystery/Thriller category and in the Best Fiction Ebook Trailer category.
This revised 2012 Edition includes three chapters of the sequel, "Pilate's Key." That book and its follow-up, "Pilate's Ghost" were named semi-finalists in the Kindle Book Review Awards in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
"Pilate's Cross" and the entire "John Pilate Mystery Series" has action, mystery, romance and adventure--all in one suspenseful read. Find out for yourself why washing your hands of murder isn't easy.
Fun characters, engaging mystery
Based on a true story, Pilate's Cross is a fun, speedy thriller with sharply drawn characters and even sharper dialogue. If you're into offbeat but realistic stories with enough action and mystery to keep you glued to your iPad, then this is for you.
Late Night Page-Turner
Excellent read! I felt like I was watching the story unfold from over John Pilate's shoulder. By the time both Pilate and I figured out that he'd dug himself into a hole he wasn't easily getting out of, I was hooked. I spent several late nights unable to stop turning pages. I highly recommend the book, and can't wait for the next one.
