Planet of the Apes

A Novel

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

The original novel that inspired the films!

First published more than fifty years ago, Pierre Boulle’s chilling novel launched one of the greatest science fiction sagas in motion picture history.

In the not-too-distant future, three astronauts land on what appears to be a planet just like Earth, with lush forests, a temperate climate, and breathable air. But while it appears to be a paradise, nothing is what it seems.

They soon discover the terrifying truth: On this world humans are savage beasts, and apes rule as their civilized masters. In an ironic novel of nonstop action and breathless intrigue, one man struggles to unlock the secret of a terrifying civilization, all the while wondering: Will he become the savior of the human race, or the final witness to its damnation? In a shocking climax that rivals that of the original movie, Boulle delivers the answer in a masterpiece of adventure, satire, and suspense.

Planet of the apes

Great book glad I finally read it loved the movies growing up.

Review of: Planet Of The Apes. By: Armando Gutierrez

The book was assigned to me by my school as reading requirement, I can honesty say that I truly enjoyed it and relished it in it's entirety. An infinitely tragic story that tells the unending loop of human kind's demise and the history of our more harry predecessors, Planet of The Apes proves to be a book that tests the solidity of human society today, an easy read for any one over the age of ten it provides solid entertainment, following the lines of mystery, adventure, fear, courage, and romance; this book provides entertainment for every kind of reader alive today. It captures the imagination of everyone by bringing in the potential loss of the most important and essential part of what being human embodies: intellect, the distinction between man and beast.

A very good read

Very suspenseful. I was easily absorbed into the story and found myself eagerly continuing to read. Good descriptions, nothing too abstract like some science fiction authors tend to do which looses their readers. This book references things that are common today. I'm glad I read it.
