Razstava in publikacija ponujata na ogled izbrani vzorec sijajne zbirke Narodnega muzeja kiparstva (Museo Nacional de Escultura) iz Valladolida. Prinašata skrbno izbrani nabor del največjih kiparskih imen tega obdobja: pionirjev, ki so v Kastiljo zanesli zametke flamskega realizma oziroma italijanske renesanse, ter tujcev, ki so se naselili na tem ozemlju. V Španiji, ki so jo imperialne težnje gnale na velike osvajalske pohode na Flamsko, v Italijo in v novi svet, nenehnemu izmenjavanju umetnikov, tehnik in del tako rekoč ni videti konca. 

Na razstavi in v publikaciji je predstavljenih 23 skulptur. Dela so razdeljena na šest vsebinskih sklopov: srednjeveški svet, kastiljska renesansa, od renesanse k baroku, razmah baroka v Kastilji, barok v Andaluziji in začetki 18. stoletja.
