The Mathematical Sublime series brings to life pages of ancient manuscripts, combining them with the latest digital media to deliver multidisciplinary content where art and science are beautifully integrated.
POLYHEDRA | The Regular Solids: their History and Evolution is the first electronic book of the series. Videos and interactive features lead to a journey starting with Plato and Leonardo da Vinci, continuing with the latest mathematical theories in the discovery of the polyhedra which have fascinated the human mind for millennia.
Polyhedra is incredibly beautiful.
This book has incredible interactive graphics that truly take you into another dimension. Bertol is a scholar at the intersection of art and geometry, and she takes the reader/viewer through spaces that one could not imagine without these images. The images in this book are much more interesting than most of what you see in computer imaging, and then it's amazing to see how they are mathematically constructed. I think this author does a lot more with the interactive potential of electronic books on the ipad than any other books I have seen.
