Publishing with iBooks Author
Nellie McKesson & Adam Witwer
This book is available for download with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device, and with iTunes on your computer. Books can be read with iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
iBooks Author is the first tool of its kind. Never before have publishers, authors, and content creators had a tool for making dynamic, interactive ebooks in a WYSIWYG environment. This book is intended to get you up and writing in iBooks Author. You’ll learn what to expect from this new tool and what its strengths and limitations are. You’ll see how you can create beautifully designed pages and how you can bring those designs to life with interactive content in ways that, before now, were only possible in a web browser on the Internet. You’ll also find out how to navigate the occasionally tricky terrain of Apple’s ecosystem so that you can get your book published to the iBookstore.
Very helpful overview of not only iBooks Author, but the process of getting your eBook into iTunes & the iBookstore. Good job... highly recommended.
This book is full of great info on iBooks Author. I recommend you also download the free iBook by E. O. Wilson: Life on Earth to see the working example of what this guide references.
Some info may not be accurate anymore
It would be great if we can get an updated version of this book (since it is such a wonderful resource). For example, .ibooks and .epub files exported from iBA will now work in iBooks for iPhone, iPad, and OSX. The book says that it will only work on iPad, which is not the case anymore.
