Guns N' Roses And The Making Of Appetite For Destruction is the definitive book about the early years of Guns N' Roses. Written by Marc Canter, Slash's best friend of 30 years, Reckless Road offers unprecedented access to hundreds of never-before-seen photos and memorabilia from the early years of the greatest rock band of all time, Guns N' Roses.
This is an entertaining look into the roller coaster ride that was Guns n Roses. There are many photos of the band from pre-"Appetite" era and many stories that show the back ground players that helped make the band what it was.
The biggest down side to the book is the amount of typos. Almost every page of this 350 plus book has some sort of grammar/ spelling error. It's a shame too because it distracts from the flow that the book could have had.
I highly recommend this book to G n R fans for the videos and photos alone. The author certainly had access to the band at a time when many people weren't even paying attention to them and it pays off in the storytelling.
Maybe at some point he could bring in a proof reader to help bring the written parts of the book up to the quality of the photos. It would have been nice to have more information about the nuts and bolts part of the recording of the album but this book is more about the road leading up to the making of the album.
All in all a decent effort and I found it entertaining and a quick read.
This book is AMAZING! I only bought the sample though.. GNR 4 LIFE

This book is awesome. The videos & links are like a tour through Rock & Roll history. GNR fans will love it, but so will fans of 80s & early 90s rock scene. This is the real reason why you bought the iPad. :-)
