In a sensual, angsty novel from USA Today bestseling author Beth Yarnall, a hotheaded P.I. unleashes one lawyer’s deepest passions—and greatest temptations.
Nolan: Nothing’s ever come easy for me, especially not my dream job at Nash Security and Investigations. Righting wrongs is what I’m meant to do . . . except I manage to blow the very first chance I get. So why don’t they fire me on the spot? Hell, I’d fire myself if I could. Instead, my boss hands me an assignment that’s too important to screw up—and partners me with Lila Garcia, a gorgeous attorney with curves so distracting they should be illegal.
Lila: Like my client, a grieving mother charged with the murder of her own son, I know how quickly the American dream can become a nightmare. If anybody can help me clear her name, it’s Nash Security and Investigations. But Nolan Perry is a wild card. Bending the truth, breaking the law—that’s his business. I need to focus on the evidence. Not on how Nolan’s body fits so perfectly against mine. With a case this personal—and this dangerous—losing control is simply not an option . . . no matter how badly I want to give in.

Overall, this was a really fun and sexy story, with very likable characters.
Nolan Perry never seems to have things go smoothly in his life. He's now working for Nash Security and Investigation as a PI, and actually liking it. The newest pro-bono case from Fredom Project has been assigned to Nolan and he will be working with Lila Garcia, the lawyer also assigned to the case. Together the two of them are trying to get Carla Ruiz freed from prison. They feel that she was wrongly charged for the murder of her son. Working together, side by side, Nolan and Lila have a strong attraction toward each other. I just loved their unexplained chemistry. I really enjoyed how in the beginning it seemed like Nolan was the one with some secrets, but it really ends up that Lila has the bigger secrets. This story line was really enjoyable with all the information they were uncovering and it really kept me engrossed in the story. By the end, you just couldn't help feeling hopeful for Nolan and Lila. Overall, this was a really fun and sexy story, with very likable characters.
An OK read
This series started out very well but each story after has been less than the one that preceded. It's not a bad story but it's just kind of boring. I didn't seem to really connect with the characters, I was actually very thrown some of the aspects of each of the characters and felt that some of it was very contrived and convoluted. It seemed as though things were kind of thrown in there in a way to make it more interesting or to possibly highlight a character flaw that just didn't fit with the characters as they were described. I believe this is the last in this series and I was hoping that it would go out with a bang but unfortunately it just didn't end on the high that it began on.
