The author's father, William J. Reed, a navy communications specialist, helped develop the hardware that made possible long distance frequency direction finding that allowed listening stations to pinpoint the far away locations of ships or submarines. These HFDF stations, called "Huff Duffs," were instrumental in the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. Badly in need of an editor
The factual information of the book is good, but there are far too many typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors which detract from the content.
Good content. Mediocre writing.
This Book has interesting Stories, however, the author is no Tom Clancy. The parts with dialogue are weak.
Loved it, stimulating, informative
I have read every book on subs I can find to read, from WWII to the modern era. This book covers areas and topics I have read about before but also adds lots of new information recently declassified.
