Reflections of Yesterday

Debbie Macomber Classics

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Now available for the first time as an eBook, Debbie Macomber’s moving novel of heartbreak and hope is a classic story about how love can heal even the deepest wounds.
Twelve years have passed since Angie Robinson fled her hometown of Groves Point, South Carolina, with ten thousand dollars and a broken heart. She knows Simon Canfield still lives there. His powerful family practically owns the town. Now she’s back, if only to return the money Simon’s mother paid her to leave. For too long Angie has lived with her regrets, her mistakes, and her suffering. If there’s forgiveness to be had, the time has come.
Years of anger and bitterness have hardened Simon’s resolve, and he doesn’t want any part of Angie—or her excuses. But when he discovers the truth about what happened and why she skipped out on him, everything changes. Simon lost the woman he loves once. Despite all that’s happened since, and all that still stand between them, he’s not about to lose her again.

Reflections of yesterday

Not one of her best!!!

Terrible message for women

The book starts out okay. Then you realize Simon is codependent and a control freak. And Angie is a flat character whose main attribute is to take the abuse of her father and love interest. Spoiler alert... It is never explicitly said but I’m pretty sure that Simon rapes Angie and she is not even upset about it. She is just praying she gets pregnant. There is a difference between forgiveness and not having enough self worth to understand when to stick up for yourself. The author deals with all of these dramatic issues but seems completely unaware of their true implications. They are more just plot points. The writing is just shallow.

Reflections of yesterday

This book was lovely and it reminds you that love can turn into so many ugly emotions from a misunderstanding. When children are groomed to feel superiority over a group of people Gods love prevails.
