Descripción

In this terrifying tale of humanity’s desperate stand against a robot uprising, Daniel H. Wilson has written the most entertaining sci-fi thriller in years.

Not far into our future, the dazzling technology that runs our world turns against us. Controlled by a childlike—yet massively powerful—artificial intelligence known as Archos, the global network of machines on which our world has grown dependent suddenly becomes an implacable, deadly foe. At Zero Hour—the moment the robots attack—the human race is almost annihilated, but as its scattered remnants regroup, humanity for the first time unites in a determined effort to fight back. This is the oral history of that conflict, told by an international cast of survivors who experienced this long and bloody confrontation with the machines. Brilliantly conceived and amazingly detailed, Robopocalypse is an action-packed epic with chilling implications about the real technology that surrounds us.

De Publishers Weekly

20/04/2015 – In this sequel to Wilson's high-tech near-future thriller Robopocalypse, the artificially intelligent Archos R-14, supposedly defeated, lives on. It has released robotic parasites that change humans into cyborgs in preparation for a new war against its ancestor, Archos R-8. Meanwhile another AI, Alpha Zero, has settled into the U.S. military installation at Cheyenne Mountain, determined to create a world where humanoids can live free on their own terms. Wilson populates a fairly familiar post-apocalyptic landscape with sly refugees and weary soldiers whose newly augmented skeletons and senses are turning them into "walking weapon" in a chaotic war that will decide the fate of intelligence and humanity on Earth. This Hollywood-ready techno-thriller is packed to the brim with enough tough characters and brutal conflict to satisfy the most hardcore video gamers and action movie fans.

Truly amazing

This novel will want you to read it to the end. It blends science fiction with the end of the world an creates something entirely different. A must read.

Excellent!

From the first few pages, I was drawn into a believable world reminiscent of the familiarity felt from living through a tragic event such as 9/11. Dan Wilson's novel about a world taken over by robots conveys the importance of working together as a species to the reader. It's a suspenseful thriller that will leave you reading it from beginning to end from the time you first pick it up. Definitely a good buy.

Great, great job, Daniel!!

Never did I expect that this book iwould be this-how do you say it?-FANTASTICI!!-when I first picked it up. Sure, if you are a technologically challenged girl like me, it is a bit slow coming at first. However, after the first chapter (or "Briefing"), it really starts to reveal itself as a true art form, and even though I believe that the term "Nothing like I have ever seen before" is overused, this is truly like nothing I have ever seen before. And, frankly, I have read a little bit of everything. Even if I am not all that old myself.
Also, it is really great to see something grace the top ten chart (number ten as I write this) because it is GOOD, and not just because we all know the name of the author. And this book is good, and for every one, even technologically challenged teenager like me. It is not just a freaky sci-fi robot apocalypse story that gets old real fast. It also demonstrates different aspects of what makes us human. Our love, our memories, and most of all, our simple desire to live.
I can truly say that Daniel H. Wilson accomplshed a great feat with this book. If you are someone reading this just to find out whether this book is worth buying; it IS. It will give you a whole new view on life as we know it. That is pretty major.
