Turning thirty is overrated. Who said you had to be married with a fabulous career and three kids? I had a great life. Single, freedom to do whatever I please, and best of all, stay home on a Friday night in my sweats, eating pizza while listening to the best of the ’80s.
When a woman says she’s fine, she’s not fine. Zoey had it all. Stunning looks, ambition, the whole package. Then he f****d her up. He broke her.
And now I’m left picking up the pieces…again.
Zoey Richards, strong-willed and driven, settled on the geeky struggling med student to share her apartment with, not the perfect-in-every-way stud who would just distract her and undoubtedly break her heart.
When her ex comes back into the picture, Zoey seeks revenge and enlists her roommate’s help. All Zoey and Drew need to do is pretend to be a couple for one night. But one night can change everything. Refusing to break their “roomie code,” and in an effort to deny their feelings for each other, a war erupts between Zoey and Drew.
She lives in the past; he, for the future. If opposites attract, will these two gamble their friendship for a chance at love?
If I could turn back time....
Miscommunication, no communication. This book frustratingly dragged on & on. For 19 chapters it rambles on with repetitive immature characters. They're nearing 30 but it read like they were immature teens or early 20s. They don't even get together, not really. You're strung along for 19 chapters only to get some sloppy closure in the epilogue.
I was frustrated & annoyed for most of the duration of this book. I do not recommend it if you're looking for legit romance. This immature, back & forth assumptions by two educated people that are seriously lacking when it comes to be mature. I love a roommates/friends to lovers story but this did not deliver. 😠
Not exactly what I thought it was going to be but still it was good. Read this in one day.
I don't know about you, but I'm quick to judge a book. I quickly loved reading this book! I even sacrificed an extra hour of sleep so I could read this! This book had me in tears and it made my heart wince in pain whenever a character was in pain. I love that it's from both perspectives too!
