In FROSH: First Blush, Ellie, Grant, Devon, and Charlie spent their welcome week falling head over heels for each other—before totally falling apart. Now, in FROSH: Second Chances, they’ll have to pick up the pieces.
After ruining Grant’s football career (and her own reputation), Ellie has been trying to lie low—which means not making more enemies. But some students are still determined to make her pay for what she did, and now, Ellie’s determined to fight back—and fight for Grant.
Grant is adjusting to his new reality: no more football means no more free passes in class, and definitely no more distractions; especially from Ellie, whom he misses even after she destroyed his world. Can he find a way to move on without her—and without football?
Devon finally has it all: her brother’s sober and her boyfriend is an adorkable genius. But when her parents threaten to tear her and Charlie apart because he doesn’t ‘fit’ into their high society, she will go to dangerous lengths to prove that nothing—nothing—can defeat Devon Connors.
Charlie’s never questioned who he is: pre-med science geek, and now, Devon Connors’ boyfriend. But when he discovers a secret about his past, Charlie isn’t sure of anything—especially whether he can trust Devon with the truth.
Perfect for fans of Cora Carmack and Colleen Hoover, Monica B. Wagner’s sexy New Adult series follows these four characters all the way to winter break—when the only thing they’ll want more than first love is a second chance.
Everything went to hell, but no what can be done about it? Relationship gaps between social classes, Crimes that need to be revealed and accounted for, family issues in many forms, and love. For people are at the center of this tale, and they all are looking for their place, in their own way. They struggle to figure out what's truly important. I cannot wait for the the next book! I am completely attached to these characters!
I read the first book in this series where we first met these characters and I loved it. This one not as much. While all four main characters are back this particular book focuses on my least favorite character Devon. Grant is dealing with life without football and Ellie. Football he doesn't really miss but Ellie is another story. Ellie's life isn't going so well either. She misses Grant like crazy and now she's being targeted as campus snitch when football is suspended from Hillson. It seems no one wants her here so why is she fighting so hard to stay?? Will Grant ever forgive her?? Devon is still the typical over privileged mean girl and it appears her target is Ellie. Just can't like this character. The way she treats sweet Charlie makes me so angry. All Charlie is sure of these days is he loves Devon (why I just don't understand). When he founds out information about his father his world is turned upside down.
The writing in this one is good and it is in the same 4 person POV as the first book. It just didn't work for me because I can't connect with Devon's character and so much of this book is about her. That aside it is an ok read and I would recommend it.
Monica has managed to blow me away once again. This book, much like the first one is so beautifully written. If you enjoy drama filled romance novels, then this is a series you need to begin reading RIGHT NOW. And if you're like me, you'll be pulling an all nighter to finish the book because you're so intrigued! (And then pay for it a couple hours into your 10 hour work day. Send help!!) No, but seriously, excellent job with this series! Monica, you have very easily earned the title (and honor) of being my new favorite author. Can't wait to pull another all nighter when the third book is released!
