Dark Side of Humanity
Another green cover, but Yoichi looks pretty cool. I love the backgrounds.
This volume opens up with Yu in a library, which is a pretty funny combination. Yu changes his primary goal from genocide of the vampires to rescuing Mika, and he wants to know how to turn Mika back into a human. Shinoa tells him what she knows. After learning that Mika's alive, Yu's attitude and behavior develop into a much friendlier outlook, and Shinoa even comments on his maturity.
Guren reveals a darker side of his, and Yu learns more about the inner workings of the army. As a matter of fact, the human army is quite a bit nastier than he ever expected. He learns some shocking information about his orphanage, too. Information about Shinoa's sister is scattered about, and the newer soldiers begin taking their abilities with their demons to the next level.
Bonus features include information on Lacus and Rene.
The story really starts opening up here, and it begins by revealing secrets and leaving many more to the imagination. The story is dark and good, the character development is showing, secrets abound, the art is glorious, and Mika's suffering continues. What more could I want?
