Shadow Rider

Book 1, A Shadow Rider Novel

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

The #1 New York Times bestselling “queen of paranormal romance” (USA Today) is back with a sexy series starring a Chicago crime family that hides a dark, mystical secret...
Whether it’s fast cars or fast women, Stefano Ferraro gets what he wants. When he’s not fodder for the paparazzi, he commands Ferraro family businesses—both legitimate and illegitimate.
While their criminal activity is simply a rumor yet to be proven, no one knows the real truth. The Ferraros are a family of shadow riders capable of manipulating light and dark, an ability Stefano thought ran in his family alone—until now…
With little left to her name, Francesca Cappello has come to Chicago in hopes of a new life. She wasn’t expecting to attract the attention of a man with primal hunger in his eyes, driven to claim her as his to protect and to please. And if he discovers her secret, it could ruin her...

From Publishers Weekly

Apr 25, 2016 – Feehan (Dark Promises) inflicts an aggressively sexist hero on her hapless heroine in this poorly rendered contemporary paranormal series opener. Set in an utterly generic and implausible rendering of Chicago, the story centers on Francesca Capello, a woman fleeing her tragic past, and Stefano Ferraro, the scion of a wealthy family with a secret they can travel through shadows. Stefano recognizes that Francesca is also a shadow rider and proceeds to take control of her life. Frequently using the excuse that his control is for her safety, Stefano steamrolls Francesca's weak protests and at one point goes so far as to kidnap her from her apartment and force her to move into his penthouse. The plot's attempts to justify Stefano's actions are flimsy, reverting to cartoonish violence so repetitive that the characters comment on it themselves. Even readers interested in an extreme fantasy rendering of a domination/submission relationship are likely to struggle with the unrelenting misogyny thinly cloaked as chivalry.

Feehan is a queen of Paranormal Romance

Ancient families, strong magic and the ability to right wrongs the Ferraro family tops the charts with their shadow ability. When the play boy, Stefano, sees his perfect match Francesca nothing will stop him from claiming her.

Francesca was running from her past and an evil that had destroyed everything she held dear. When the supposed “crime family” takes an interest in Francesca, she wants to run the other way. The last thing she needs is publicity bring the danger back to her door. But Francesca is going to soon find out that once the one of the Ferraro’s claims you as their own there is no getting away.

Shadow Rider is a perfect example of why I love reading Christine Feehan’s work. Feehan knows how to emotional connect her readers to the characters. She also writes a story with just the perfect balance of suspense, romance and plot that keeps you invested till the end. Bottomline, the woman can really story tell and she is one of the best out there.

Who knew a grab at a grocery store deal for a beach read could have been so rewarding? I fell in love with her Carpathians (Dark Series) and never looked back…but with this new Shadow series there is so much more to look forward too. Feehan is a queen of Paranormal Romance!

I received this ARC copy of Shadow River from Berkley Publishing Group - Jove in exchange for a honest review.

Shadow Rider

This book was dissed by a reviewer on the description page. I totally disagree with their opinion. This book was engaging and I can't wait for the next installment. If you like this author you will enjoy this new series. I almost passed it up because of the harsh critic given on the description page. I'm glad I took a chance and tried it anyway.

Shadow Rider

I love C. Feehan, however, this book was a little wordy and slow moving, love the concept. I think Publishers Weekly's review did this book a disservice, obviously the reviewer was a raging feminist and was insulted by the concept of an overly protective male hero, if that is you you will not enjoy this book.. If you're into the strong alpha male leads this book will satisfy, I give this new series a 5 star rating but the 1st book gets a 3.5, I look forward to the next book hoping that it's Emme's or Ricco's....
