If you love urban fantasy, and plenty of magical, steamy paranormal romance, this series is right for you. Recommended for ages 17+
Very good story
So while on my vacation in Gulf Shores celebrating my 30th anniversary, I get this gem of a book, Shadow's Awakening. Now my problem is that I am not to be reading on my iPad, my husband complains that every time he turns around I am always on it. Sooooooo I am having to sneak reading when he isn't looking and boy is it HARD when you DO NOT....I repeat DO NOT want to but it down. So instead of being able to read this in one setting, IT TOOK ME THREE DAYS.
The good part about this was I got to read it at night setting on the balcony over looking the ocean, listening to the waves and drinking wine and daiquiris.
Now on to the review....
First this is book one in the Shadow Warder series.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
Hannah and Conner are a great couple, I liked how their relationship grew even when they knew they shouldn't get close. They had plenty of spark going on that completely drew you into the story.
Now Hannah, girl I have to give you brownie points, she went threw #ell and back and still was able to stay strong and fight for herself and not give up. She is one brave woman with plenty of determination to survive, because she gets out of the frying pan and into the fire .
Then Conner, he is a soldier, he always played by the rules until Hannah. He rescues her the first time but then something happens that they both have to over come and he really has to be strong and stay on the sideline, even tho he wants to go in gun blazing, and let Hannah save herself, but he is able to give a helping hand.
The story line really flows well. There is plenty of action and ups and downs, twist and turns, to keep you interested to the very end. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
I received ARC from the author for an honest review.(less)
I enjoyed the book. A great combination of fantasy and romance. I got an advanced copy from the author and really like how she writes. The non-human characters are described well. You find out early in the book who they are and what they do. It is so well described, you are never lost. The story keeps pulling you along so when the book ends you can't wait for the next
