She Belongs to Me: The Southern Collection (Charlotte - Book One)

Book 1, The Southern Collection

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

A passionate novel of love, betrayal, and obsession, "She Belongs to Me" will have you falling in love and wondering if you can trust anyone right up to the last page.

Charlotte police officer Jordan Monroe is used to being in control. Ever since his father died, he has provided for his mother and sisters and even hired his two brothers-in-law to help run his successful construction company. On a chance business trip, however, he meets the one person who throws his life into a whirlwind--Jaynee.

Jaynee has lived a tragic life and has sworn off all men. That is until a rugged southern gentleman lands in her seating area, refusing to take no for an answer. From the moment they meet, Jordan sweeps her off her feet, assuring her that happiness exists. But can she really escape her past?

Five years later, Jordan finds Jaynee on their back porch with a gunshot wound to the head. While Jaynee lies in a coma, Jordan has to go back to their beginning and figure out what went wrong. Did he push his wife to the edge, or has her past come back to haunt them?

Although "She Belongs to Me" is part of The Southern Collection, it is a stand-alone story that can be read on its own. This is a cliffhanger-free zone here, friends!

She Belongs to Me

This is a "heaving bosom" genre novel with some suspense thrown in. He's perfect ( except that the author doesn't understand the pathology of jealousy), he's rich, educated, handsome- and she's the feminine version of all that, but not rich and needing to be rescued. Rescue fantasy novel. Better written, and should have given it 3 stars for the effort, but the smarmy dumbed down rhetoric for Born Again Christians was shallow and disappointing. If it mattered at all, it needed to be introduced respectfully in the beginning.

It's a very good book. My only thing is, the guy is wayyyy too perfect. And their are wayyyy too many compliments thrown in there. I know that's how it should be but if we're being realistic most romances don't have ppl throwing compliments every 5 seconds. I mean they could be brushing teeth and Jordan starts talking about belonging together and it's just too much. But overall if you can get over the sappiness(idk how to spell it) it's a great novel.

The reason to read this book:

The main reason I like this book is because it gives you enough information to know what's happening but at the same time gets to the point. Like my sister begged me to read another book and they talked about a lake for 3 pages. So much happens in this book so fast. And it has such an amazing twist. 5/5
