Dr. Ian K. Smith's Shred is the answer to every dieter's biggest dilemmas: how to lose that last twenty pounds? How to push through that frustrating plateau? What to do when nothing else is working? Here, Smith has created a weight loss program that uses all he knows about strategic dieting in one plan--like putting all the best players on the field at once to create a can't lose combination. Shred combines a low GI diet, meal spacing, and meal replacements. Those who follow Shred will constantly be eating (every three and a half hours!), four meals or meal replacements (soups, smoothies, shakes) and 3 snacks a day, over a six week program. Shred also introduces Dr. Ian's concept of "Diet Confusion". Diet Confusion, like muscle confusion, tricks the body and revs up its performance. In the same way you need to vary your workout to see results, switch up your food intake to boost your metabolism. No matter how often or how unsuccessfully you've dieted before, Shred: The Revolutionary Diet will change your life. Shred has taken the internet by storm, and thousands have already joined Dr. Ian's Shredder Nation, losing an average of four inches, two sizes or twenty pounds in six weeks. Utilizing the detox from Fat Smash Diet, the intense cleanse of Extreme Fat Smash, and varying food of The 4 Day Diet, Shred is a six week plan to a new way of life!
Not any good info
Very disappointed in this book. He just tells u what to eat and eat every few hours according to a time table and u have to eat. But no where in the book does he explain how the plan works and no details on anything. No scientific. Data or info. Maybe chapters r missing in the iBook edition cuz it seems very incomplete
I really love the book, this is the first book I ever stuck with...
An Awesome Plan To Follow
I am so glad Dr. Ian wrote this book. The plan is so easy to follow. A couple of coworkers and I have joined the Shredder Nation. It is amazing that people are saying that it is hard to follow, but not for me. We have developed our weekly plan for meal for the entire program. The word document with my detailed plan for the week is posted on my refrigerator as well as above my computer at work. That is the best way to know what I am supposed to eat. Even though so meals are repetitive, as long as the scale keeps moving down I am happy!
I ever set an alarm on my phone to remind me of the times that I need to eat. I will say that I need to improve on the number of days that I workout, but I am on week 4 and I am down 9 lbs. I usually get bored easily but I am ready for the next round.
I even joined the Houston Shredders and Happy Shredders group on FB. It is great to connect with other people as I continue my "Shred Journey."
