Shut Up and Kiss Me

Book 2, Lost Boys - A Lost Boys Novel

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Hailed by Katee Robert as “an author to keep your eye on,” Jessica Lemmon brings her heartfelt storytelling to a sizzling novel about a steamy kiss—and a relationship that only gets hotter from there.

Cade: I tried. I really tried. I should be out of this small town by now, finishing my law degree and partnering up with my buddies, but I couldn’t resist one last street race. Now I’m sidelined in the hospital, and while my injuries will heal, I’m not so sure my voice will return. What kind of attorney can’t talk? Yeah, exactly. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to come back from this . . . until Tasha Montgomery reawakens every competitive bone in my body.

Tasha: I nearly watched Cade Wilson die on that lonely stretch of road. He’s damn lucky just to be alive, even if he doesn’t realize it. I know he’s destined for bigger and better things, but I don’t mind helping him get there as he relearns everything he took for granted. Cade’s a good student, a real perfectionist; I can tell how much his stutter bothers him. But when he lets his kisses do the talking, everything else disappears. And one day, maybe he’ll be able to tell me that he wants me—as much as I want him.

From Publishers Weekly

Nov 07, 2016 – Lemmon's sweet contemporary romance about a couple of college kids in the small Midwestern town of Ridgeway might be the perfect confectionary amuse-bouche for a dreary winter afternoon. Caden Wilson has been dubbed a "silver-tongued fox" and is on the fast track to law school. Then he crashes his car headlong into a fire hydrant during a street race, and his injuries leave him with a debilitating speech impairment. The road to recovery stalls when the only healer he'll even let near him is his friend Tasha Montgomery, a physical therapy student. There's every reason to doubt his sincerity about regaining perfect speech, as their "therapy" sessions consist of her doing homework while he restores a new automotive toy. One thing leads sweetly but predictably to another as she convinces him that certain intimate mouth and tongue exercises will help reduce his stutter. In Lemmon's story, nary a problem exists that can't be soothed in short order. The tale is insubstantial and lands somewhere between sweet and saccharine, but fans of fluff will enjoy it.

Really Good

Shut up and Kiss me, is one sweet, sexy, and steamy read.

Tasha and Cade were brought together by chance. After an awful accident. Tasha stepped in to help Cade, no one even asked. She just knew someone would need her help. She becomes somewhat of a therapist (which she’s going to school for) for Cade. To be able to really speak again.

This is story was written beautifully. It had a lot of heart and the steamy scenes weren’t at all corny (hey! sometimes they can be.) I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t realize that it was the second book in the series, when I chose to read it. But I don’t think it affected the story in any way. But I may go back and read the first.

I loved the real meaning behind Tasha and Cade. It’s really about finding yourself again, after going through something hard. Life can be hard, it throws its curve balls. But when you’re able to get back up and try again is really what matters.

Overall, I give this book Four Boundless Stars....Lissa

Frothy, swoon-tastic delight!

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review

Jessica Lemmon's latest, Shut Up and Kiss Me, is a frothy, swoon-tastic delight of epic proportions! Shut up and Kiss Me may be a follow-up to Fighting for Devlin, but their tones couldn't be more different. Devlin was dark, suspense-laden, and intense, whereas Kiss Me is light and sweet, bubbly and effervescent, and just so dang enjoyable.

Tasha and Cade are such an endearing couple, and their personal and romantic journeys are triumphant and uplifting, and as corny as it may sound, an absolute tribute to the power of love. Tasha is damaged but determined and Cole is gorgeously grumpy, but together, together they are MAGIC. This story is a pure fairy tale, grounded in reality, and it's sure to leave even the most jaded reader sporting a wide, cheesy perma-grin all the way through the happily-ever-after.

Lemmon may bring the sweet and cheery in this book, but she certainly doesn't skimp on the sexyfuntimes. There are some fantastically memorable scenes that enhance the grand, sweeping romance playing out in the pages of this stunning story -- tornado sirens, mirrors, and cop cars have never been so seductive and alluring.

Much like its author, this standalone is a true gem. Tasha and Cade are the perfect couple and readers will quickly fall in love with them. Shut Up and Kiss Me may have one of my favorite titles ever and this book has quickly ascended high on my list of Lemmon books I love!

Unique and Funny

Tasha and Cade's story was a fun read with a couple of real life issues thrown in that the author handled perfectly. I love reading out of the norm characters so this book was right on point. Tasha just wants to help Cade but will he accept the help and try or keep being stubborn. Loved the whole book but the ending was my favorite.
