Customer Reviews

Silas Marner

As a high school student, I read this book 50 years ago. My mother was interested and read it then as well. It has stood the test of time. A setting distilled to the essence, and splendid characters reflecting a time and place found only in old sketches and forgotten memories of England before she became an empire are what make this expertly crafted tale a gem in the rough. George Elliott is the pen name of Mary Ann Evans, and I am still a fan.

The book has a great message and a really good story, you just have to get through how hard it is to understand!!
