Book 17, Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

When a vampire serial killer sends Anita Blake a grisly souvenir from Las Vegas, she has to warn Sin City's local authorities what they're dealing with. Only it's worse than she thought. Police officers and one executioner have been slain-paranormal style.

From Publishers Weekly

Apr 20, 2009 – Hamilton's 17th Anita Blake novel draws the vampire hunter into a game of cat-and-mouse with a particularly monstrous vampire named Vittorio. Aided by sadistic serial killer Otto Jefferies, convenient sociopath Edward and fanged escorts handpicked by her lover Jean-Claude, U.S. marshal Anita offers her services to Las Vegas, now under siege from Vittorio's army of enthralled preternatural beings. Manipulated by the cunning Vittorio and occasionally misled by coincidental events, Anita employs her insight into Vittorio's condition and weaponized libido as the decisive weapons in this struggle. The book is largely concerned with the melodramatic conflict between hunter and hunter and Blake's soap-operatic love life, but Hamilton does manage some genuinely moving passages, particularly those describing the terror of innocent vampires caught up in the arbitrary and draconian U.S. legal system.

So glad Richard's not in this book

Interesting new characters that almost make the absence of JC ok. And I am so glad that Richard's out of this book. Enough of that endless moody shiet. :)

Anita Blake

The author does it again! I LOVE this series!! Keep them coming please!

Blood Noir

I really enjoy the "Anita Blake VAMPIRE HUNTER" books. The setting in Vegas & the were tigers were cool. I liked the swat characters... although between nicknames, call names & last names it was really confusing. I just wish they weren't all about sex just for the sex. I miss the stronger plots of her beginning books. This is my second time around rereading them & I wish that there was a list of all the characters included in the books as well as a list of her series books in order. When she wrapped up this story & told you what all the characters were now doing, I couldn't even remember the names & who they were. I'd like to see a stronger plot with the police, political, executioner, the animator side of her character. I like that it's spicy but it's starting to read as nothing but sex.
