From USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan comes the first book in a hot new trilogy about friendship, love and embracing life!
Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she’s now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than Manhattan? But when Paige loses the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone.
Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother’s best friend, New York’s most in-demand date and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige’s fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?

Could not put it down!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. "Where does it ever say that people who love you get it right?" This quote from Sleepless in Manhattan really hit home for me as a major theme in the book. Morgan's newest novel centers around Paige and Jake...two friends who come together through business. The book begins with Paige finding herself in trouble with her job and Jake, a successful businessman himself, stepping in with advice. Jake's push gives Paige and her friends, Eva and Frankie, the encouragement they need to start up their own company. All is great except for it finds Paige in constant contact with Jake who also happens to be her brother's best friends and her long-time crush.
Jake has his own issues from the past that come into play and as the two spend more time together, their friendship only grows stronger and their chemistry explodes. I loved getting to know Paige and Jake and watching their relationship grow and see how they learned how to "get it right" for each other. I loved watching Paige's friends and brother watch Paige and Jake figure out how to "get it right" and what each character's version of that was. I really enjoyed that this book went beyond the surface of the characters and you really felt what it was in their histories holding them back and how they had to overcome them. Morgan makes the struggle more real which makes the ending that much sweeter and enjoyable.
As with all her books, Morgan gives us strong, funny, lovable characters that show us true friendship in Paige, Eva, and Frankie. The women are all so different in personality, the dialogue and interaction between them is fantastic. The bond they have throughout the story is part of what makes Sleepless in Manhattan such a great book. She makes you care about her friends, as well as Paige's brother Matt, just as much as you do Paige and Jake, and leaves you wanting to know more about their stories and what happens to them.
Sleepless in Manhattan is a fun, smart, warm, sexy book that pulls you in and has you feeling as if you are joining the characters for a drink on their rooftop terrace in NYC with them. I could not put this book down and cannot wait for the next in the series. Highly recommended!
Sleepless in Manhattan
This was such a brilliantly written book. The interaction of the characters was something that you see in real life relationships. I recommend reading the bonus story of Midnight at Tiffanys first. It introduces you to the characters and flows so beautifully into and sets the scene for Sleepless in Manhattan.....
When a life changing event occurs, Paige seems to think that things will never be the same or the way that she wants them ever again. Enter Jake. Her brother Matt's best friend suggests and pretty much goads her into starting her own business. These two have a history and eventually come to the realization that maybe there is such thing as real love, and with a little persistence it can work for them. I am so looking forward to reading the next two books in this series. Sunset in Central Park and Miracle on 5th Avenue.
I love this book! The characters are fantastic. They are emotional, realistic, fun, witty and complimented each other perfectly.
The story of Paige and Jake is everything you expect it to be in a great romance. There is friendship, loyalty, tenderness and of course, the must have heartache that leads to the happily ever after.
Sarah Morgan gets a perfect score on this one!
