Mackenzie Wyatt believes in two things: herself and her plan. And her plan is to keep her head down and to work hard until she can retire. Never mind that she doesn't know what she'll do once she retires– at least she won't be working for the man anymore. Because even though he's a gorgeous man, he's still her boss and he likes to push her buttons.
Ethan Howell O'Connor's charmed life comes to a screeching halt after his latest ex-girlfriend starts a fashionable trend in talking to the tabloids. Now all of Ethan's old girlfriends are talking to the press, ruining his reputation, and wiping that charming smile right off his face. The only person who can brighten his black mood is the same person who can annoy him to kingdom come. He and Mackenzie have feuded since the day she was hired but now Ethan's starting to realize: maybe those sparks were hiding a blazing fire.
Mackenzie's about to find out that sometimes a gorgeous man can come up with a plan all his own, and it's a given that it'll mess hers up.

Good plot, poor execution...
This story had so much potential, but the ugh or missed her opportunity by rushing through the most interesting plot points. The characters were there-strong male and female leads, funny/interesting supporting cast. Unfortunately there was very little character development. I would have liked the leads a lot more had I gotten some good background. There were some peeks in to their pasts and the motivation behind their actions, but not enough to keep me from skipping over pages of arguing and whining. The "best friends" weren't introduced, but talked about as though the reader knew their backstory already. Confusing and frustrating.
The dialogue was witty for sure, but the characters kept in with the same argument over and over. There were so many opportunities for the author to show character growth or to throw in a cool plot twist, but she kept going back to the same tired reasoning that was introduced in chapter ine. And the sexy scenes?? Meh. After all of the build up, the first time the get together is pretty dull.
In all I would say that this isn't the worst of this genre that I've read, I'm hoping that this author got her stuff together in later books because she definitely has potential.
Love loved loved it!
Loved the writing, loved the wit, loved the plot.
Loved it all! Good easy reading.
Writing was ok just couldn't stand the fact the main male character was a momma's boy. Nothing worse than a man who lets his mother dictate his behavior. Yuck!
