Sparking the Fire
Book 3, Hot in Chicago
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Kate Meader’s blazing Hot in Chicago firefighter series has “everything you want in a romance” (RT Book Reviews, Top Pick)! The flames of desire burn out of control in this sexy third novel when ex-lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”
Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back to the big time and restore her self-respect.
Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Co. 6, needs a low-key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. Especially when in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.
Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…
Light My Fire!
Where to start...there is so much to say about this gem that it's difficult to know where to begin. This is the first book by Ms Meader I've read, and WOW!! have I been missing out. This Hot in Chicago series is exactly that, hot, and one I now feel the need to read from the beginning.
Wyatt and Molly's story is one fantastic grab you by the heart ride from beginning to absolute end. I can't say if I've encountered a more "real" character then that of Wyatt Fox...and the way the author has crafted him is the dream of any female who is currently alive and breathing. Don't get me wrong, Molly is amazing in her own right, but Wyatt just takes my breath completely away.
The author is a genius with bona fide witty and clever banter that'll bring tears of laughter, smart dialogue and characters who'll stay with you long after the last page is read. The Dempsey clan is one ginormous group of love and acceptance that anyone would be so lucky to have in real life. Since this story is the last in the series, the tie up of all the characters, and including them in such depth was a stoke of an excellent author who knows her audience and their wants.

Sparking the Fire
I have enjoyed reading this series from Kate. This story is another good read for us. Kate does a good job of developing her characters to get you falling into the story. I will say that this book is a mature read for those under 18. Wyatt is in a family of fosters to save them and they lose Sean, their father, and their brother Logan. They are firefighters. Wyatt meets Molly, an actress, producer to make a movie of the family. Her ex, tried to ruin her work. Major Spoiler! Toni is 15 and has beat Cancer but never met her true father Logan. Major Spoiler! Please make sure you have lots of tissues beside you. This was a story you can't put down. But on the other hand you have to just walk away for awhile. I liked this story line that started with a different beginning. I hope you will take time to read this book. You won't be sorry if you do. Enjoy this read! I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.
4.5 Scorching Stars!
Smokin hot! There is just something about a man in uniform. Not only is Wyatt a firefighter but he's also a former marine. (You learn in the book not to say ex-marine) To top off his sexy career choices, he was also the silent broody type. That's a total win for me! Another total win for me is Kate Meader. This is the second book I've read of hers and I'm a big fan of her writing! She managed to not only make this story scorching hot between Wyatt and Molly, but she also had a great message about family. Not all of the Dempsey's are blood related but you can't find a closer bond. I absolutely loved the family dynamic!
