Publisher Description
Henry is asked to come up to Northern California to the sleepy town of Sonora by his old friend and classmate Sheriff Rustow. He makes the trip up and discovers a strange way of dying - entombed in his own gold mine. But after a bit of investigation, it turns out this was no accident and the search is on for a cruel killer who set off the explosion that killed an innocent gold miner. While he is investigating with the Sheriff, Henry is shot and nursed back to health by a kind waitress he'd met earlier. Will they catch the killer? Will Henry get involved in a long distance romance? Find out in this second book in the series.
Customer Reviews
Passed the "Get Back to it Test!"
My primary test on a book is quite simple: "Do I look forward to getting back to the book to read some more?" YES, this book passed! When I was not reading it, I would often think about it and look forward to getting back to it.
If I have to force myself to read a book for personal enjoyment then it's a bummer and fails my basic test. But so far both Albert Simon books I've read passed this simple but telling test.
I would say to others "give it a go." he is spot on with his writing. I enjoyed the plot, characters, setting, and overall scheme. I will read more A. Simon Books so why don't you.
