No one charters the depths of passion on the high seas like New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair in Stormchaser

Somewhere off the coast of Greece, a king’s ransom in gold, emeralds, and silver coins lies waiting at the bottom of the sea. Finding this ancient treasure would be a dream come true for marine archeologist Calista West. But that’s not why she’s here. She didn’t climb aboard Jonah Cutter’s magnificent yacht seeking fortune or fame. She’s come for revenge—against the sexiest, most seductive, modern-day pirate she’s ever encountered…

Like his famous half brothers, Jonah is a master of salvaging ships—and driving women mad with his movie-star looks and raw animal magnetism. Tall, dark, and devastating, he manages to make Callie forget her mission. Every moment they share under the hot Mediterranean sun is an erotically-charged adventure neither can resist. But when Callie discovers what he’s really after—the lost city of Atlantis—is it too late to change the course of her heart…or go all in with the lover of her dreams?

The Cutter Cay series is:

"Action-packed drama." —Fresh Fiction

"Sizzlingly sexy." —Booklist

"Enticing." —Seattle Post-Intelligencer

From Publishers Weekly

Jan 30, 2017 – Panting lust and an undersea mystery are, sadly, not enough to save Adair's weak fourth Cutter Cay contemporary romance (after Vortex). Dr. Callie West is a marine archeologist who signed on to Jonah Cutter's expedition near Greece with ulterior motives. She presents herself as married, though she's actually widowed; the last thing she wants is for the enigmatic, darkly handsome Jonah to know she's available or to find out her true purpose. Jonah battles inner demons, trying to resist his attraction to the very married archeologist whose services he secured from under his archrival's nose. However, neither of them can deny the chemistry that's building during the long days and longer nights in an almost magical place. The heat is sidelined by the possible discovery of the lost city of Atlantis, and by threats from a mysterious group of people determined to undermine their salvage efforts. While the elements surrounding Atlantis's discovery are fascinating, Adair relies much too heavily on sexual yearnings to propel the story, at the expense of an otherwise solid plot. Two-dimensional, sex-obsessed characters don't stand up to the wonder of research and history.

3.5 Treasured Stars!

3.5 Treasured Stars!

I think this might be one of those times where not reading previous books in the series may have hurt the chances for me to connect completely to the story. We start out with Callie taking a job with Jonah Cutter to help him salvage and document his discovery. He believes he has found the lost Atlantis and Callie is an expert in her field.

We learn real quick that she only took the job to sabotage it for the Cutters nemesis, Ryder, Callie's brother-in-law. I'm assuming it's revealed in previous books why these men don't get along, but you don't learn it in this book until the second half. What little you do learn, doesn't justify her deceit, in my eyes. I had a really hard time liking Callie because of this.

I loved Jonahs character. He fell hard and fast for Callie which made me fall for him. In turn, that made it even harder to like her for betraying him. Unfortunately, this made the first half of the book a bit of a struggle for me. The thing that saved the story for me is that I'm apparently easily won over. Once Callie gave into her attraction to Jonah, I started rooting for them and could enjoy the 2nd half of the book.

I would really like to know more about what Rydell thinks the Cutter men did to him to deserve his revenge. It didn't touch anymore on the subject but Rydell's story is next in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Just ok

This one was just a "meh" read for me. The story is very disjointed in my opinion and I could never develop the warm and fuzzies for these characters. The sexy times are well done but I never feel that chemistry between the two MC. Add to that all the craziness and mystical happenings in the story and it just doesn't feel real. The premise of the story, the exciting discovery of what could be Atlantis, set up everything for an exciting story, I wish it had all come together.

Cutter Cay is back!

I have been waiting for Stormchaser, the latest in Cherry Adair’s Cutter Cay series, since I closed the cover of Vortex back in 2012. Almost five years! That’s a long time to wait for a book. Actually, longer than that. I’ve been waiting to hear Jonah’s story since he entered the page early in the series. It was almost worth the wait. This is a fun action, adventure novel written in trademark Cherry Adair style. There’s running, jumping, good guys and bad, and crazy monkey sex, all surrounded by a great story. As soon as I started reading I remembered how much I loved these characters and this series. Now I want to go back and reread the first three. The good news is I don’t have to wait nearly as long for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
