Description

The last Stormlord is dead. War has come to the cities of the Quartern. The violent, nomadic Redunners have put every rainlord they could find to the sword and the cities are left without hope.

Shale has been betrayed, drugged, and left at the feet of his greatest enemy. Now, he must decide to work with those who have plotted against him or let thousands of the waterless die. He has great power but is no Stormlord. At least, not yet...

Terelle has escaped the Scarpen in search of her homeland and her people, the mysterious Watergivers. But a desperate message will send her back to find Shale and face her worst fears.

The people of the Scarpen are in danger. Shale and Terelle must find a way to save their people and punish those who have destroyed all they ever loved.

Publishers Weekly Review

May 09, 2011 – Families are divided, heroes are made, and the fate of the world is decided in the exciting conclusion to Australian conservationist Larke's Watergiver trilogy (after 2010's Stormlord Rising). In the desert-dry Quartern nation, only a cloudmaster can keep people alive by calling the rains. Lord Jasper Bloodstone, once a commoner, is the last surviving cloudmaster, but he is unable to manipulate salt water. His waterpainter lover, Terelle, wants to help, but a magical compulsion draws her away. Jasper's brother, Sandmaster Ravard, is killing every rainlord he can find—even targeting Jasper—in hopes of bringing back the Time of Random Rain. In poignant counterpoint, transgender warrior Rubric Verdigris struggles with his conscience and what it means to be a man. Themes of family and identity dominate a story line that is both intimate and world-spanning. Series fans will love the exciting action and well-developed characters; new readers will want to seek out the earlier books.

Amazing Book!!

One of the best book series I have ever read! I have read a book a day for the past two months and this beats them all! Thank you Glenda Larke!

After reading the first book, I HAD to get my hands on the rest of the trilogy. I hate electronic books and would much rather have a paper bound book but I was desperate and impatient enough to finally get it on iBooks and read all 500+ pages of it on my iPad yesterday. My eyeballs hurt but after a few hours of sleep I'm good. Just rested them enough before I buy the next and last book. :)
