There are approximately 284,340 cases of work-related musculoskeletal injuries reported annually to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Although these injuries have multiple causes, an important
prevention measure is self-care. This is something over which the individual worker has control. Adequate rest, weight control and exercise all contribute to muscle & joint health. Many of our daily activities make significant demand on our muscles, yet we don’t warm them up and get them ready for the work they are expected to perform.
Doing these exercises at least once a day will help strengthen and stretch your muscles. You can
perform these at the beginning of your workday and then repeat them as you feel necessary.
As always, with any exercise program, your physician should ensure that it is safe for you to do these exercises.
