Book 2, Cruel Summer
Rachel Van Dyken
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
I wanted revenge.
And I got it in the best way possible.
Ray has always driven me insane, now that we’re older, all I want is to make her feel the pain she put me through for four years.
And then suddenly, everything shifts and I realize I just want her,
It’s bad enough that I’m the camp director-her boss.
Our love is equal to our hate for one another and the burning tension between us refuses to relent. If anything its gotten worse.
I push her.
She pushes back.
Passion whether it be born out of love or hate—is a powerful beast, one I’m refusing to tame.
Marlo and Ray’s story continues…
Revenge or love
This is part two of cruel summer. With the untimely interruption and the remark about revenge sex. The walls around Ray have become stronger and her feelings of being unloved have increased. Marlo realizes that he wants Ray, heart and soul but he needs to break down the walls. This is summer acting camp and it's all about letting go and Marlo is going to help Ray. There are no spoilers but there is a cliffhanger at the end. We are all those insecure high school kids inside.
Soul crushing in the best possible way
There are just some books you feel in your soul. That give you everything you’ve ever wanted in a book and then ripped it out. This was supposed to be a fun summer read, while it kind of it, I can’t say I feel that way right now.
Rachel Van Dyken gave me hope and then ripped my heart out. I don’t think I’m going to be ok until the next book comes out and even then I might not be ok. I don’t see a way out of this series where I am ok.
Fab summer series
This second installment in this summer series is fabulous!
This story starts right off of Cruel Summer.
Ray and Marlon are still trying to figure out what they truly mean to each other.
There is humor (the secondary characters are phenomenal), there is steamy heat and there is a fantastic story line as well.
This story makes me wish that I had gone to summer camp as a kid.
Ms. Van Dyken’s writing is fabulous and this series is just another testament to her fine writing!
