'A wonderful, captivating romantic story.' Chicklit Club
A free summer vacation in a beautiful villa in Lake Como. The catch? Sharing a house with her worst enemy . . .
Cesca Shakespeare has hit rock bottom. After one prize-winning play that ended in disaster, writer's block turned up, moved in and got a Netflix subscription. Six years later, she's just lost her ob and is about to lose her home. Worse still, her sisters have no idea how far she's fallen. So when her fairy Godfather offers her a free summer break in a beautiful Italian villa, she grudgingly agrees to try writing a new play. That's before she finds out the house belongs to her arch-nemesis, Sam Carlton.
Having just hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons - again - Hollywood heart-throb Sam Carlton needs a place to hide out. Where better than his family's gorgeous empty villa on Lake Como? Except when he arrives, it isn't as empty as he'd hoped.
One thing's for sure - this is going to be a red-hot, scorching summer . . .

For someone as down on her luck as Cesca Shakespeare having an Italian villa offered to her for the summer should have been the perfect escape. When bad luck is all you have though maybe you should have known things weren't going to go as well as you thought. First the Villa is a mess. Not the things strewn around mess, the roof falling down and plumbing not working kind of mess. Then, just because fate has it in for her, the person that started her downward spiral by walking out on her first play shows up at the villa. Oh this should be a grand summer!
This is a wonderfully written story with some pretty amazing characters. Sam and Cesca's relationship slowing moves from enemies to friends to a fling to much much more. It's a nice slow build and the author's wonderfully descriptive writing has us on a journey to Italy right along with them. This is definitely a book I would recommend.
Wow. Carrie Elks gave us a powerful romance in Summer's Lease. Scenery was described to make you feel you were there.
Characters you fall in love with while at the same time hurting for them.
Amazing! I could get enough! Can’t wait to read the rest of the serious! The writing and character development were superb!
