Sunset in Central Park

Book 2, From Manhattan with Love

This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.

In the chaos of New York, true love can be hard to find, even when it's been right under your nose all along…

Love has never been a priority for garden designer Frankie Cole. After witnessing the fallout of her parents' divorce, she's seen the devastation an overload of emotion can cause. The only man she feels comfortable with is her friend Matt—but that's strictly platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he makes her heart race…

Matt Walker has loved Frankie for years but, sensing how fragile she is beneath her feisty exterior, has always played it cool. But then he uncovers new depths to the girl he's known forever and doesn't want to wait a moment longer. He knows Frankie has secrets and has buried them deep, but can Matt persuade her to trust him with her heart and kiss him under the Manhattan sunset?

From Publishers Weekly

Jun 20, 2016 – Morgan whips up a sweet tale using the backdrop of spirited New York City in her second From Manhattan with Love contemporary (after Sleepless in Manhattan). Events planner Frankie Cole has resigned herself to being forever single, believing that all relationships are doomed. She wears eyeglasses that she doesn't need in order to repel any man who might be interested in her. This strategy works until Matt Walker, a friend of a friend, reenters her life, and Frankie finds herself incredibly drawn to him. The author does a wonderful job of depicting Matt's point of view, making it clear that he's attracted to Frankie even more because of her superfluous eyewear. Frankie is an adorable and lovable character whom readers will passionately champion. She's amusing and cute as she tries her best to avoid the man who sets her heart afire, and the warm and clever way Matt pursues her will make any reader swoon. Morgan's novel delivers the classic sweep-you-off-your-feet romantic experience.

A Delightful and Entertaining Tale

Frankie Cole built a stone wall around her heart. She wanted nothing to do with having a boyfriend. What kind of man would want to date her, anyway? Not a respectable man, that’s for sure. When her parent’s divorced, Frankie's mother started changing. Instead of becoming more involved with her daughter, Frankie’s mother took to sleeping with men instead; all kinds of men, young, old, married, single, it didn’t matter. Frankie would hear people whispering around her, and she could just imagine what they were saying. “Like mother, like daughter, keep your man away from her.”

Matt Walker knew in his heart that Frankie was nothing like her mother. They had been friends for years, and Matt was in love with Frankie. Although there was obvious chemistry between them, Frankie didn’t want anything to do with becoming a couple. In Frankie’s mind, relationships and marriages fail; so, why would she want to mess up a beautiful friendship just to have a lover? Could Matt’s love for Frankie be strong enough to change her mind? And, could he handle Frankie’s rejection until he won over her heart?

Sunset in Central Park is a delightful and entertaining tale. I think, however, that the story would have been even more enjoyable if the characters had been fully developed.

I received this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

Love Matt and Frankie!

Love this book! You can read this on its own but I would read the first book and then this one. Frankie is not your typical heroine because she isnt into all of the love and romance stuff because of stuff that happened when she was growing up. She is a great fit for Matt he just had to help her realize that.

Sweet and sexy...

While I always enjoy the friends to lovers stories, I would put this one towards the top of my list. It is sweet, romantic, sexy and witty. Matt has had a thing for Frankie, one of his sister's best friends and business partners, for years. They grew up together and he thinks he knows her pretty well. But when he realizes that he doesn't know the "real" her, he decides that he is going too and won't take no for an answer.

Frankie is a strong and independent woman, who has put up walls when it comes to relationships, even with her best friends. There are things that happened in her life when she was young that she hasn't told anyone, even her best friends, and are the cause of her emotional distance and trust issues.

When Matt and Frankie take things to the next level, it is sexy and hot, while being sweet. She finds herself opening up to Matt in ways she would have never imagined. She tells him her deep, dark secrets without even thinking about it. Matt treats her so loving, while trying to be patient, knowing she needs time to accept their relationship. He is showing her that true love does exist and that it can last when the two people trust each other and in the love that they share.

Anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. Knowing Eva is the romantic of the group, I know it will be amazing.
