This book is available for download with Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device. Multi-touch books can be read with Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device. Books with interactive features may work best on an iOS device. Apple Books on your Mac requires OS X 10.9 or later.

Photographer Connie Tamaddon once again delights young readers as she uses the properties of light and shadow to create another clever read-out-loud guessing game that illustrates that not everything is as it first seems. Your child can continue on the road to creativity. Again using unusual materials to fashion seemingly familiar shapes, Tamaddon creates an imaginative way to entertain – and enlighten – readers young and old, and provides a playful yet serious opportunity for parents and children to discuss the dangers of prejudging objects and people.
Dedicated to inspiring creativity in children and helping individuals whose voices are not always heard, Connie Tamaddon is donating all profits from “Surprising Silhouettes 2” to College Track, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged students obtain a college degree. Located in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Aurora and New Orleans, College Track has helped many students graduate from high school with the necessary skills and background to gain admittance to a four-year college and to successfully earn a college degree. Dedicated to serving students who are currently under-represented in higher education, College Track has a solid record of success in helping students prepare for the academic, social, and financial demands of college.

What's New in Version 1.1

The Sample is updated with a few pages added and the 4th screen shot (DAlligator1S.jpeg) has been edited. Also, this book should be REPLACING the pre-sale version that just has the snail silhouette on the cover. Right now there are two versions of the same book(one was just a placeholder for pre-sale and the other is the completed version already available for sale) and I don't know how to combine them.

Customer Reviews

Surprising Silhouettes 2

I purchased this authors first book, Surprising Silhouettes about 3 1/2 years ago...loved the book. This second app book is just as vibrant, fun and engaging as her first book. The kindergarten kids loved to have me read while they would guess the answers. The older kids enjoyed reading it in small groups while others guessed the answers or kids taking turns reading while others would guess the different silhouettes. This is a fun way to get kids reading and relating words to silhouettes. This is and has been a wonderful aid for me at school and at home. I highly recommend Surprising Silhouettes 2 AND Surprising Silhouettes for young readers, beginning readers and for those who enjoy a colorful, fun and engaging book you and little kids will want to read together over and over again. Happy reading!
