He may own a candy company, but this wealthy bachelor is no Willy Wonka.
A new standalone sexy contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling author Nina Lane!
Sugar Rush Candy Company CEO Luke Stone is a devoted businessman who doesn't do relationships. He does short-term affairs with clearly defined rules. But when a sexy bohemian angel propositions him in a bar, Luke is tempted to want more.
Polly Lockhart is horrified when she wakes the morning after her twenty-third birthday to realize she made a fool of herself with a sinfully delicious man. She tells herself she doesn't have time for romance anyway, as she's fighting to keep her mother's beloved bakery afloat and finish her culinary studies. That all changes when her class tours the famed Sugar Rush headquarters, and Polly collides with her dream man again.
As she succumbs to their hot attraction, Polly soon realizes her bakery isn't the only thing that needs saving. Luke, driven and unyielding, will burn out unless someone convinces him to taste the sweetness of life. But can Polly remember this sugar rush is only temporary?
The first book in the Sugar Rush series, Sweet Dreams was a sugary confection of steamy fun I wished I'd discovered sooner! I loved Polly's wit and bluntness and got a kick out of Luke's protective, control freak habits. The relationship was low on angst and their chemistry was a happy concoction of fantastic, sexy sweetness that was hard to resist! Hilarious supporting characters round out an addictively engrossing read and I'm eager to read the next book in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received at no cost from the author.

I needed a faster pace
I got to about 40%ish of the book then skimmed the rest. The whole build up was soooo slow. The characters weren't right for each other at all. Polly's too immature for Luke and I wasn't feeling their relationship. I think I wanted Polly to show she was inexperienced then what was written. I hope Hannah (Polly's older sister) has a damned good explanation for not dealing with their failing mother's bakery business. I'm hoping the next 2 are better especially Evan's book in book 2. I will come back to the next 2 soon bc I don't want my disappointment of this book to cloud my judgement.
