T is for T.rex: Some of God’s Most Amazing Creatures from A to Z is a beautifully illustrated book designed to help kids learn about dinosaurs in a fresh, fun and informative way. Containing funny rhymes, humorous illustrations and factual information, this alphabet book will both entertain and inform young minds about some of the strangest and most fantastic animals to ever walk (fly over or swim upon) the earth, like Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus and raptors, as well as flying and marine reptiles, giant mammals and more! Written from a young-earth creation science perspective, it stresses the importance of the Bible in interpreting the fossil evidence for these amazing creatures, as well as in explaining their behavior. It also points to Noah’s Flood as the key to understanding earth’s geology and the fossils record.
Generally aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 12, adults will also enjoy reading T is for T.rex to their kids—and are likely to learn new facts about some of the most popular and not-so-popular dinosaurs and other “giant animals” (megafauna) it features. In a very real sense, T is for T.rex could be called a children’s book for adults!
T is for T.rex teaches children the alphabet using funny poems based on the names of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures—some with already unusual or “goofy” names—combined with humorous and brightly illustrated pictures of the animals that reflect the rhymes. It also informs kids about popular dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus and Brontosaurus/ Apatosaurus, as well as less familiar creatures like Jaxartosaurus, Kronosaurus and Zygorhiza. In addition to the poems, the text pages contain a “box” of factual information about the animals, along with their and a man’s silhouette for size comparison.
In addition to teaching the alphabet in a unique and entertaining way, and presenting factual information about fantastic animals of the past, T for T.rex also exposes young minds to concepts of creation science and Flood geology. Thus, it helps fill the large gap that exists in the marketplace for “dinosaur” resources for children from a Christian/creationist viewpoint. While a children’s book, the clever rhymes and interesting facts T is for T.rex contains makes it a mutually rewarding experience for adults who read it to their kids. It’s a great learning resource for children and families, as well as for churches, Christian schools and homeschool groups.
This book is very informative for children and adults alike. It has been thoroughly researched, and the poetic part for kids is quite entertaining. Below the kids portion is a more informative, fact-filled adult portion, for the paleontologist in all of us. And the art work is awesome.
