Book 5, Whiskey Creek
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Christmas is a time for remembering
Too bad not all memories are pleasant! Everyone in Whiskey Creek remembers Sophia DeBussi as the town's Mean Girl. Especially Ted Dixon, whose love she once scorned.
But Sophia has paid the price for her youthful transgressions. The man she did marry was rich and powerful but abusive. Then he goes missingand she soon learns that he died running from an FBI probe of his investment firm. Not only has he left Sophia penniless, he's left her to face all the townspeople he cheated .
Sophia is reduced to looking for any kind of work to pay the bills and support her daughter. With no other options, she accepts a job as housekeeper for Ted, now a successful suspense writer. He can't turn his back on her, but he refuses to get emotionally involved.
Will Christmas, the season of love and forgiveness, bring them another chance at happiness?
This is a must read!!!
I started with this book even though it is #5 in the Whiskey Creek Series. It was such a great book that I already went out and bought books 1-4. Not because you need to read the previous books to understand this one, but because if book 5 was so outstanding then the previous books must be amazing as well. I love a good series!
Sophia and Ted were teenage sweethearts until Ted went off to college. Sophia started seeing Skip DeBussie, behind Ted's back. She got pregnant by Skip, and then married him. Skip was the richest person in Whiskey Creek and never failed to flaunt his money or his wife. Little did anyone know what pure hell Sophia lived behind closed doors. Years later Skip has left Sophia with quite the mess to clean up and some very angry people to deal with. Is Ted still holding on to all that resentment towards Sophia for breaking his young heart?
I only gave you the barest hint of what takes place in this book. There is so much more happening in Whiskey Creek right now. I was biting my nails waiting to see what was going to happen amongst the group of friends. I think the biggest message in this story is about change. People change, situations change, life changes and it's all about how each individual deals with those changes. Brenda Novak has written an amazing book/series and I can't wait to read her past and future books.
Could Stop Reading!!!
Brenda just gets better with each one I read, she has been added to my must buy list. I've been waiting for Sophia's story and she definately did not disappoint. Can't wait for the next one in the series.
I loved this book. Your writing style is wonderful. I fell the emotions of the characters. I'm so glad you chose to write this story. I can't wait until the next book.
