Review: The Assassins #1: The Accidental Assassin
The Accidental Assassin by Nichole Chase is the first book in her Assassins series. This book is equal parts quirky, romance, and suspense. These elements mix together in a way that not only works well but is highly entertaining. While reading, I was on the edge of my seat trying to work out who was the bad guy and why Ava was being targeted.
Ava is an American in London house-sitting for her best friend while she is away on her honeymoon. SHe is determined to do something more with her life than what she has done so far. The rut she is in - she wants out, like yesterday!
Owen is an assassin. He only kills bad people but he is still the one that makes them dead. When his path crosses with Ava's twice in as many days he starts to suspect his current case is compromised in some way. When he ends up taking her under his protection then everyone's life is about to get turned on his head.
A great novel filled with humor, passion, plot twists and more. A very pleasant read and I will definitely looking for more in this series.
No Accident ~ I LOVED this!
I was totally captivated with this book from the minute I picked it up. I read it from cover to cover and never put it down.
Many of us have been in the spot Ava is, no I don't mean the one where you accidentally find yourself as an assassin! I mean where you find yourself in a rut! She is just going through the motions of life and doing the same things over and over, ordering the same stuff and never ever trying anything new. When she is asked by her friend to house sit she decides, this is it! This is what I need to shake up my life. To finally do it, try something new, put some spice in my life! She sets a plan in motion to try everything she can, never imagining exactly it would lead to her to the arms of an assassin....
The book had some of everything romance, drama, banter, suspense, sexiness, action, humor - it was the perfect mix to keep you thoroughly entertained. Ava and Owen, while an unlikely couple are just wonderful together. They bring out the best in each other.And the side characters were fabulous as well! And truly added to the story. You really find yourself rooting for them. I did not want this one to end!

An AMAZINGLY fun and addicting book!!
What a great book!! I haven't had so much fun reading a book in a LONG time!! Nichole Chase is a new to me author and I am definitely going to be diving into her back list when I get the chance. The Accidental Assassin was fun, charming, action packed, sexy and highly addictive. I can't pin point just one thing I loved about this book but I was instantly hooked by Nichole Chase's writing style and was anxious to get back to reading when real life got in the way. The Accidental Assassin just hit all the right notes for me and I can't wait to read more in this (please, please let me be right) series.
Nichole Chase took a pretty serious situation of assassins, sex trade organizations, murder and mystery and made it charming and fun. I love a good "chase" novel and this took the best parts of action and mixed it with humor and heat to make an enticing story that I couldn't stop reading. I am still thinking about this book days later and stalking Nichole's social media sites to learn when to expect more from these characters!
The Accidental Assassin introduces us to Ava and Owen in a most unusual way. I love how quirky and a bit naive Ava is on the outside, but diving deeper into her character we get a strong, intelligent woman that is whisked up in this crazy situation. Owen is everything you could want in a hero. He is a bit closed off, but charmingly sweet and caring (but deadly). I would love to get to know both of these characters more, but in a fast paced novel like The Accidental Assassin, we get to know them in bits and pieces (which is fine) and that leaves you craving more.
Nichole Chase has a fantastic way to weaving a story, she revealed things at a fast pace but I never once felt rushed. The pacing was perfect, the chemistry was hot and the characters were unique. Not only did I fall in love with Ava and Owen, but the cast of secondary characters were interesting and just ripe for more stories to come from them! The Accidental Assassin was not what I was expecting, it was not a dark or gritty story, it was a lot of fun to read and took a darker subject and made it sexy and charming. I loved every bit (which as you know is rare for me).
If you have never read Nichole Chase you are in for a treat!! Fans of action packed stories with romance, heat and fabulous characters will definitely want to 1-click The Accidental Assassin. I have only given out a 5 star review to 10 books this year (I've read over 200 books in 2014), so if you are looking for a guaranteed good book, this is it! Grab your e-reader, turn off the phone and enjoy running away with Owen and Ava...
