If you like raw emotion, fast-paced stories, and characters that are imperfect and real, then you are going to love this contemporary romantic drama.
Aya Johansen is a young nurse working with refugees in a war zone, when she's captured by fanatical religious warriors. She's determined to break free, even if it means compromising her own values and starting a relationship with one of her kidnappers.
Kato wants to do the right thing, but helping Aya could cost him his life - and he's smart enough to know that if she ever escapes he'll never see her again. That alone makes it impossible to let her go.
Will Aya be able to convince him to free her before she's branded and sold as a slave? And if she achieves the impossible, can she ever live a normal life again and forget about Kato?
The Accidental Slave is a stand-alone novel and the first book in Elin Peer's Slave series. Readers say it's impossible to put down and call it: "Gripping, dark, funny, sad, exciting, and sexy all rolled into one."

Amazing storyline by an amazing author!
Wow. The author wrote an amazing, heart wrenching book. This is every woman's worse nightmare come to life. However, Aya finds solace with Kato. This is a must read book! It will have you flying through the pages to know what happens next. You'll be desperate to have the next book once you have finished with this one! Will Kato be the hero Aya needs him to be?
I really loved The Accidental Slave. Elin Peer has a wonderful way of writing. This is not an exact quote, but you will get the idea of what I am saying. Kato was expressing his love to Aya as a home and it went something like this. You are like a kitchen where I feed my hunger, a bed where I dream and catch my breath, a shower where I clear my thoughts, a living room where I entertain my soul. How beautiful is that? I have never heard of love expressed this way and yet it says so much!
This is a dark romance. Kato and Aya are two people put in dire situations and ultimately find happiness.
I originally purchased the book in three parts and I have to say it was one of those books that I could not wait to get the next one. I found myself thinking about it and telling my husband the story line and I went on to mark it in my Kindle as a favorite due to the quality of writing. I am looking forward to many more of Elin Peers novels.
