Almost twenty-five years after the infamous art heist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum—still the largest unsolved art theft in history—one of the stolen Degas paintings is delivered to the Boston studio of a young artist. Claire Roth has entered into a Faustian bargain with a powerful gallery owner by agreeing to forge the Degas in exchange for a one-woman show in his renowned gallery. But as she begins her work, she starts to suspect that this long-missing masterpiece—the very one that had been hanging at the Gardner for one hundred years—may itself be a forgery. The Art Forger is a thrilling novel about seeing—and not seeing—the secrets that lie beneath the canvas.

The Art Forger
I could not put this book down. Even though I know little about the creation of visual art, I do have a gut understanding of the passion behind the love of art through the written word. There is the desire to possess the original for ones own that is shown through this glimpse into the artist's world. Even though in hindsight we were given clues to the eventual ending, it was still a satisfying drop
Jaw moment when the mystery was revealed. Bravo Ms. Shapiro...I want more!
I loved it!!!!
Great book! I couldn't put it down! Bev Shapiro has become a master story teller with this book. She had flashes and stretches of brilliance in her prior books, but didn't quite manage to sustain it through the entire book before. This time she did it!!! Brilliant from start to finish without the tiniest wobble! I can't wait to see what she writes next!
...people see what they want to see....
I loved this mystery.
