iBook buyer beware
Beware that the digital book format page numbers don't match up with the printed book, regardless of whether you hold the iPad vertically or horizontally, or even try to play with font sizes. Big pain in the neck when there is a page reference like "see recipe page 225"- good luck finding it. It is sometimes possible to do a keyword search, but that gets old very fast.
This diet also depends heavily on the availability of many special products (not available in my country). It's essentially just a low carb diet, with obsessive attention to avoiding sugar (even in fruits). It has made me acutely aware of the ridiculous amount of sugar in our foods.
I think for this kind of book, I'll stick with print, until they figure out this pagination thing.

While having the book on my phone will be handy for quick reference while grocery shopping, the pagination issues and font size for the food lists are annoying. I would buy the book in print form rather than download it.
