"The bluest of blood, the boldest of hearts; the De Montforte Brothers will take your breath away."
In her sensational and breathtaking romantic novel, The Wild One, author Danelle Harmon introduced readers to the first of the four unforgettable de Montforte brothers. Now the saga continues with the story of brave and handsome Englishman Lord Charles Adair de Montforte, revered throughout his family's lands as "The Beloved One." A loyal captain in His Majesty's Army, he has been sent to serve in the rebellious American colonies. But, after being wounded in battle, he awakens to find himself in the tender care of Amy Leighton, a sweet and sensuous local lass who is trapped in a life of drudgery in the household of her cruel and unloving step-family. Amy has long prayed for someone like this strong yet gentle stranger to enter her lonely world... but Lord Charles is from an enemy land ... and he's sworn to love another.
Of course, as good as The Wild One, reading the love story between Charles and Amy made this book hard to put down. I love their friendship and the love they have for each other. Two people drawn together by their need for each other. I love how Charles found himself again but wish there were more thrilling situations between him and Amy. I feel like this is better than the first one. It's like watching a movie--seeing and feeling everything that the characters are going through. Well written. A real page-turner! I am now going to start reading The Defiant One. I'll write another review after I am done reading it.
I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS A "HERO" SOOOOO WHINNY AND ANNOYING. SINCE THE BEGINING ALL HE DOES IS MISTAKE AFTER MISTAKE AND BY THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY I BUT HAD ENOUGH OF HIM,BUT KEPT GOING FOR ONE REASON ALONE,"MISS AMY LEIGHTON". WHICH IN MY OPINION DESERVED SOMEONE BETTER,NOT A LITTLE KID TRAPPED INSIDE A MANS BODY.
ITS THE FIRST TIME IVE FELT SORRY I WASTED $$$ ON A BOOK.
The Beloved One
This one was slow moving. Too much waffling between his self-pity and frequent uncontrollable sex thoughts. They don't mix. Once he went wandering things picked up so I gave it 3 stars.
Would pay full price for a story about their mischievous sister and Perry. The family needs to be finished!
