Did anyone else shed a tear or two during the prologue or was it just me? Just me...okay cool.
This story was so sad, and so beautiful, and so tragic. Devney, how do you do it?
I know this might surprise a few people, but I love Cole. I mean like right up there with Beau (The Outpost). Gasp! I know. I said it, and I'm not taking it back.
“Crying doesn’t make you weak, Poppy. Sometimes, it takes more strength to let go than it does to keep it all inside.”
I don't even know what else to say other than, read it right now. You won't regret it.
A romance with depth
So much more than a standard romance. Poppy’s husband Jamie is murdered on their first anniversary. For five years, she mourns, until she is ready to begin moving on. She uses her late husbands birthday list of items he would like to accomplish during his life to help her in her process of letting go of Jamie and moving forwArd with her life. Early in the book, she re-meets the young cop who brought her the news of her husbands death, and a relationship grows over time. Good character development, interesting secondary characters, and a story arc with characters you can care about. A winner!
Ultimate Bucket List
This book has all the feels!!! Poppy has lost her husband. She knows she needs to move on and sets out to complete her husband's birthday list. A list of things he would like to do by certain birthdays. The first on the list is karate. While there she runs into Cole, who was the young cop who originally came to her house to tell her about her husband's death. Cole is the perfect hero and is so patient. The only thing he wants is to spend the rest of his life with Poppy. But first, he is going to help her complete Jamie's list. Get ready for Devney Perry's quirky characters who you will fall in love with. A case in point is Randall, the grumpy old man who patronizes her restaurant, The Maysen Jar. This is a book you definitely do not want to miss!! 5 stars all the way
