This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Riley’s whole life is ahead of her … if the temptation of her father’s new protégé doesn’t prove to be too much to stand.
Brandon Grant is smack dab in the middle of the best years of his life, and so far they’ve been devoted to the construction company where he works. A product of the foster care system, he comes from a dark enough past that he can never let anyone get too close — except his boss, Mason James, who steps into the void Brandon’s father was never there to fill. After years of hard work, Brandon is finally about to land the promotion he’s always wanted. Soon, he’ll be able to live for himself, and find someone to share in the happiness he’s sure to earn … eventually.
But love can’t always wait …
Just as Brandon is being groomed for the position, he meets the sweetest, most charming, and electrifying girl he’s ever seen — and realizes, with a crushing, sinking feeling, that she’s Riley James, the boss’s daughter.
Ever since she lost her mother as a girl, Riley’s lived for her father, Mason. The loss has nearly consumed them both, and they’ve only survived it together. But while Mason moves into his twilight years, Riley is young and ready for her life to begin. Her father’s shared grief -- once the warm embrace she needed -- now starts to feel like a set of shackles … and they’re starting to chafe.
But while Riley might be ready to move on, her father can’t, and he makes it abundantly clear that Brandon’s not to go near her. As he spends more and more time in the office, readying himself to become the new company big man, he clocks more time with Riley. Soon, their spark ignites to inferno.
Both Riley and Brandon will have to decide if their happiness still means what they’ve always thought, or if they’ve finally found the person who can turn their lives into something more.

This is a STANDALONE book set in Aubrey Parker’s world of Inferno Falls. You’ll probably enjoy reading the Inferno Falls books in order, but you don’t need to.
A story of proving yourself worthy, would read it again
The Boss's Daughter by Aubrey Parker
I really enjoyed this story. Riley is determined to prove how much she has grown up and matured, and that she is ready to work hard to earn her way up in her father's company. Brandon is determined to prove that he knows how to be better than what people might expect of him, because of how he grew up. They most definitely have intense chemistry together, watching their story unfold both warmed my heart and made me shake my head at the stubbornness in each of them. I was anxious to pick the story back up every time I had to put it down.
It’s an OK start. Lots of potential.
ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review
Okay, let's be honest. There are so many categories that I would like to put this under. It seemed like a New Adult book but there was only one part in the book that was actually really graphic so I put it under a Contemporary Romance/Young Adult shelf.
Riley, the boss's daughter, is coming home from college and very close with her father because of the fact that she lost her mother at such a young age. Brandon, a hard-worker and reaching for the best as well as being a caretaker for his sister, Bridget. By the 20th-something chapter, their sexual tension is finally relieved and now, cue the dick-ness from Brandon because obviously nothing can happen between the boss's prodigy and the boss's daughter.
You will constantly want to smack your head against the table because of the fact that even though Riley wants to be noticed for how smart she is not for who she is, she sure doesn't act like it by acting bratty towards Brandon. Maybe that is why he thought she was so attractive was because she put up a fight with him. As his sister said, 'You guys are just like kids'.
Don't hate me for my honesty but I don't think I would read this particular book again but I can see a lot of potential coming from Aubrey Parker with these series and I look forward to the next few books in The Inferno Falls series. I rate this specific one a 3.2 out of 5 stars.

Nice change of pace!
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to see that the male character wasn't another billionaire sweeping the poor virgin off her feet. He was an average man struggling to make it in the real world.
Even though Riley is from a rich family, she is still struggling with the death of her mom that she hasn't fully gotten past the grief of her death. Riley is trying to please her father but also show that she is no longer a little girl, but a grown woman wanting to earn her place in the family business. Brandon is struggling with makeing it in life after growing up in foster care and prove to his boss that he can go from a blue collar job to management in the company.
Both struggle with their feelings for each other, thinking it will interfere with proving themselves to her father, his boss. It was a nice change of pace. I look forward to the second in the series!
