The Coppersmith Farmhouse
This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
One old farmhouse brought them together. It could also tear them apart.
Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on—and a complete jerk.
Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She’s stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel—something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.
I am always excited to discover a new author and Devon Perry is now on my favorite authors list. After reading The Coppersmith Farmhouse, I want to read all of the other books in the Jamison Valley series. This is a beautifully written story with strong, unforgettable characters. Jess, the hero is an alpha male who always expects to get his way, and usually does. He is handsome and women fall all over him.
Gigi, the heroine is feisty and hardworking and has learned not to trust easily. She is a nurse and has just moved to Prescott, Montana with her four year old daughter, Rowen. Gigi has had a tough time and decides to move to the small town and start over and hopes her luck will change from bad to good.
Jess is the town sheriff and I loved everything about him. He is a sexy, protective alpha male with strong opinions. Jess grew up taking care of his mom. He is sweet, good at reading people, takes care of those close to him and always needs to be in charge. Jess is steady and honest and up front with Gigi about his feeling and he is wonderful with her daughter, Rowen.
Jess and Gigi have a lot of chemistry. When they first meet, things do not go well but as time goes by, they find it hard to fight their attraction. Although Gigi is often frustrated with Jess’s dictatorial ways, she finds herself giving in to him. Jess is enthralled with Gigi. Yet, Gigi is constantly questioning Jess’s motives for being with her because Gigi doesn’t have a lot of confidence when it comes to men. I loved the story and these two characters as they struggle to discover each other and start a relationship. There are alternating POVs, so we know what each of them are thinking. Perfection.
Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book vIa Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

Review: Jamison valley 1: The Coppersmith Farmhouse
The Coppersmith Farmhouse by Devney Perry is the first book in the Jamison Valley series of interconnected standalones. This was also my first book by this author and I was absolutely and utterly blown away.
Georgia has just completely uprooted her life moving from the big city to small town Jamison Valley. Moving in to the Coppersmith Farmhouse puts her at odds with the sheriff of all people but she has no idea why.
Jess is positive that "Gigi" must have tricked Ben out of the farmhouse. Why else would he let some random woman move into it? Especially after all the history Jess has with the place?
When Jess and Gigi work out their difference of opinions and start to actually get to know one another Jess turns from aggressive jerk into aggressive alpha protector and, while frustrated, Gigi just can't help but fall for him. But all is not well and safe in the small town and Gigi finds herself in more danger here than she ever was in the big city. Can Jess keep danger at bay, solve the crime problem their hometown is having, and protect Gigi?
